Menagerie Mama

The animal population on this farm stays pretty steady--one farm dog, two tame farm cats, and whatever kittens are born in the spring (currently two.)  This weekend, however, the animal count skyrocketed.
First, Nathan found an injured bird from the storm the night before.
He named him Buddy and taking care of the bird kept him busy pretty much all day.
Thanks to the rain, they also found a toad, which was placed in a nice Schwan's ice cream bucket habitat.  (What CAN'T you use a Schwan's bucket for?)
Today we found the two kittens born earlier this spring in their new home under the back steps.
Sometime mid-afternoon, Nathan announced that he had let Buddy fly away.

Later this evening, Landen announced he saw our resident pheasant outside and he had a girlfriend with him.  Good for him!
We never know what will turn up next to fill our Melius Menagerie!
