There was a bit of excitement in our area this past May as the oil pipe line construction began in our area. The pipeline will carry oil from the Bakken Oil Fields in North Dakota. Since it covered a bit of our farm ground, we had a front row seat to watch the process.
Within a few weeks, the ground had been dug, pipeline laid and covered back up. It was definitely interesting to watch the equipment do the various jobs, and it reminded me a lot of the Gold Rush episodes we watch as they moved all of the black dirt away with bulldozers and back hoes.
