A beautiful evening for baseball.

Even though Landen and Nathan both played some great games at Faulkton last night, I was only able to get a good photo of Nathan through the (very nice, but difficult to photograph through) new netting.
Both the PeeWees and the Midgets won 4-3.  The NW Midgets hadn't beaten Faulkton in a long time, so it was a hard fought and good win for them.

Post-game conference

God treated us to this breathtaking sunset on our drive home.

Minna returns!

Minna was my friends' foreign exchange student 20 years ago.
She was in NYC for a business trip last week and also flew to Fargo to see Tonya and Tina.
They made the drive to Eureka on Sunday, and my friend Amy and I were able to see her again, too!
It was great to catch up again and learn a little bit about Finland, her family and career now.

Mid-Season Tournament

We had a fun day of baseball yesterday!
The Wildcats lost a close one to Faulkton in the morning, 0-2. Both teams played solid baseball and it came down to the difference of a hit. Even with the loss, it was a fun game to watch, and Nathan said it was a fun game to play, too.

They came back in the afternoon with a 10-0 win over Highmore for 5th place in the tournament. Faulkton finished 3rd and Redfield won the Championship game.

Happy 16th Anniversary!

David & I celebrated out 16th Anniversary on Friday.  The years keep flying by and we are blessed beyond blessed.
Teresa made us a cake and some gifts for the day.
The dressing alike was completely coincidental . . . we don't like to make a habit of that (except for NW Wildcat gear!) :)

The L is for Love.

The yellow heart matches our kitchen perfectly!

We all celebrated with a trip to Aberdeen for pizza.
Here's to many, many more anniversaries!

. . . and softball!

Teresa is playing softball this summer on the Mellette 10 and under team. They had her first game last night and won 9-1.
She had a lot of fun, although it is a little different than baseball!

This week in baseball . . .

I experimented with my camera a little bit more this week. :)

I was happy to catch his smile in this one as he had just attempted to slide and Landen doesn't slide!  He was good naturedly taking some tips from his coaches after reaching 2nd base safely.

NW won this week against Miller and are going into the Mid-Season Tournament this weekend again in Miller.

Looking through a new lens

I tried out my new camera lens this past week.  I still have lots of practicing to do, but I did manage to get a few fun photos.  Northwestern won a close one over Ipswich this week--8-7.

Happy 98th Birthday, Grandma Joachim!

We were blessed this past Sunday to celebrate my Grandma Joachim, who turned 98 last week!
We had a fun party with her, with plenty of cake and ice cream to celebrate.

Afterward, the boys and Papa Butter went fishing for supper, but had no luck again.  Lake Eureka just hasn't been very kind to them. Thankfully Grandma Shirley planned ahead and wasn't depending on a big catch. :)
