Easter celebration

We had a very blessed Holy Week and Easter.
We hosted the Joachims, Koenigs and a selection of Meliuses!
I realized after I fell into my chair after four days of praying and ultimately celebrating, that I never got a picture of our family in our Easter best!  This is quite disappointing since we were all dressed up twice--for Easter Vigil and Easter morning.  Somehow no one in my family requested that I take a photo.  Oops!

A little ocean time

For a prairie girl, I sure do love the ocean. And this is what I love to do with it:

1. Walk up and down the beach listening to my music (Matt Maher, Lauren Daigle, Francesca Battistelli. . . .) We stayed at Deerfield Beach this year, which is about 40 minutes north of Ft. Lauderdale.

2. Sit and read, read, read! I am still working on this novel about George Washington's spy ring in the Revolutionary War. The first novel completed on this trip was The Good Girl by Mary Kubica, which I highly recommend! Even though the weather forecast going in didn't look too promising, we were blessed with party cloudy skies and only rain while we were eating and didn't want to be on the beach anyway!

Since the Twins weren't playing on the east coast this year, we checked out the Miami Heat schedule. They were playing the Cleveland Cavaliers, so it was a great opportunity to see LeBron James play against his former team.

The game ended up being a blow out, but we did see Dwyane Wade make his 20,000th point in the NBA. You don't see that every day! Well, at least I don't. . . .

Monday was cooler and we were getting ready to return to South Dakota once again!

But, not before one last palm tree photo!

Morning smiles

Nathan surprised me with some extra eyes looking back at me Saturday morning.

I can always count on Nathan to keep life interesting.
Here is the note he left for me this morning:

I told him the awesomeness was his responsibility. :)

Rabbits on the Loose

Well, sort of on the loose!
Sunday was so beautiful that the rabbits were released to their exercise area--the trampoline. Although the boys have decided to keep the babies, they are yet to be named. Stay tuned for that!

Nathan and Snuggles

 Pulling rabbits out of hats!

Rosi says, "Save the rabbits. Eat Hereford Beef!"

Snuggles looks forward to Northville baseball season

The family altogether.
It sure is fun to have bunnies in the spring. Everyone enjoyed their backyard field trip!

3 on 3 Champs

It was Landen's turn to add to the medal collection this past weekend. His team of four 6th graders won their division in the Leola 3 on 3 tournament!

Districts

The day after the last basketball game of the season is always a little sad for me.
When you live in rural South Dakota (and especially if you are a stay at home parent!), high school basketball games give an opportunity for a social outing at least twice a week.  Well, at least they do for me. You chat with the parents, have a little popcorn, cheer on the team . . . all good stuff to distract from the South Dakota winter.
At least we have a few elementary/middle school games left and spring--with baseball season--isn't too far away!
Our boys' team pulled off a big win the first night of Districts and concluded their season last night.  Our team with two season wins going up against Warner, the only undefeated team left in the state, was no less than David and Goliath x 10.
I was hoping the game and ending score would provide me with enough material to begin writing the screenplay for a new inspirational Disney movie, but in the end, that was not to be. :)
Ah, well, they had one heck of a band playing last night which was well worth the $6 cover charge!
I was equally impressed and caught this picture after our boys' basketball team came out to play in the first set after their game.
Once again, win or lose, I was proud to be a Wildcat mom.
